Shots to try and capture...

In preparation for shooting my music video, I wanted to capture some photographs of different locations and different texture ideas in different areas. Below is a list of ideas of what type of photographs to take:

• Sun set beach shot with silhouette of model looking at her feet. Long shot/establishing shot
• Sun set beach shot with silhoutte of model from behind. Medium close up
• Hand print in the sand
• Hand print being washed away by the sea
• Medium close up, camera pointing downwards looking at the models feet walking
• Footprint filled with water. Close up
• Medium close up of a few footsteps showing the walking journey. deep footprints getting shallower as they are further away
• Water dripping into a rock pool or puddle to represent a tear dropping
• Close up of hand brushing along corn in a corn field
• Long shot of model in corn field
• Long shot of model sitting in a large window sill area with sunlight coming through the window
• Silhouette of model from outside of the room looking in
• Condensation on the window
• Side view of model with steam when breathing in a cold environment
• Hand print on the window when the condensation drips and the hand print disappears
• Heart shape on the window when the condensation drips and the shape disappears
• Range of shots from the outside looking in with the silhouette getting further away from the window
• Silhouette of model crouched in a ball against a blank wall

Further Ideas...

I have had the idea to use silhouette figures of my model and close ups of hands/feet etc. I feel that this effect would work well as it fits in with the theme of senses which is key in this song.
I also like the idea of focusing more on dusk settings or duller locations with only natural light in order to create a duller approach to fit the mood of the song as opposed to lighter settings which would create more positive connotations.

Weather Ideas...

I have done an internet search of possible weather conditions which I feel is appropriate for my music video.

This is the perfect sky that I would like to use on my music video because it represents the situation which is being told in the story of how the love started of good (which is represented in the blue sky) and then it gradually got worse (which is represented in the white, light grey and dark grey clouds). I also like the way in which the sunshine is trying to come through but is blocked by the clouds. This could represent how a good life is trying to happen but is blocked out by all the bad memories.

I also like the way in which this sky looks as it is mostly grey, however, has some parts a brighter colour which creates a sense that the characters life is mostly negative, but does have some positive parts.

Internet Research into Locations...

Before I go out to take my own individual photographs of possible locations, I felt it was necessary to search for beach and field locations on the internet as inspiration.

This first image that I have found on google is quite good because the area is open and the sand is quite messy which would accomodate my theme of imperfect. On the other hand, I think I would like some large cliff tops to enclose the area a little bit. Also, I think I would like a duller day with more cloud.

To the left is another beach location which I particularly like because the cliff tops give it an enclosed feel although it is still a large open space. However, I would like to create a duller look and would like a more cloudy and grey look.

I quite like this beach too as there is lots of different directions used. However, I want the location to highlight the character and not to take focus away from her.

CD cover font inspiration...

I have researched some fonts that I like and could possibly use on the CD cover that I create as part of my coursework to compliment my music video. These fonts shown below are from Microsoft Word. I intend to research font types on the internet in order to discover more of a unique font style.
